The distress alert is a simple and intuitive way to warn those watching over you that you need help.
Once activated on your KIP, your alert is sent to your loved ones chosen during the set up of your outing. If you forgot or weren’t able to launch an outing, your distress alert will be sent to your favorite loved ones as a default. You can add and configure all of these in the KIP app.
When you trigger an alert, the people you have chosen will receive a notification on their KIP app. They will have the necessary information to transmit and notify rescue workers of: your last position, your unique KIP number, if you are still moving, your battery level, etc… KIPPERS in the vicinity act as a relay for your distress alert but do not receive it personally.
