HOW DOES THE K-IP WORK?
To be used everywhere in Europe, the beacon sends your information on the KIP radio network, and as a bonus, on your phone’s GSM network. In France, if there is no network, the information of your KIP can be intercepted by the rescue services, even without any network coverage. You will always be findable.

In addition to deploying and operating the KIP network, we have equipped mountain rescue services with the FIND-R.
This device communicates directly with the KIP and does not require a network to locate people in distress.
Thanks to the FIND-R, a unique technology developed by APIK to overcome network dead zones, mountain rescue teams can find a K-IP beacon located up to 12km away. A performance that allows it to scan, in just a few minutes, large areas during helicopter rescue.
